Nirvana Day (Nehan-e) Service & Pet Memorial Service – In Person and Zoom – English

Nirvana Day, or Nehan-e, commemorates the passing of Shakyamuni Buddha from this world. In Jodo Shinshu, this day is a time to listen to the teaching of Amida Buddha that was revealed through Shakyamuni Buddha and continues to reach us today. This year, we will also hold a Pet Memorial Service. Pets are cherished members of our families, and through remembering their passing, we listen to the teaching that embraces all beings without exception. You are welcome to bring a photo of your departed pet and remember them together in gratitude.
