The Toronto Buddhist Church Tai Chi Group was started in 1991 with around 12 of members of the temple. The group was started with teachers from the Toronto Taoist Tai Chi Association and they have passed down the teachings to students who continue with the form today.
Tai chi is an art form that embraces the mind, body and spirit. It has been called a type of moving meditation that uses a series of gentle movements that create harmony between the mind and body.
The group practices on Thursday morning from 10am to 11:30am and is open to everyone. Beginners are welcome! The only equipment needed are comfortable clothes that you can move in and a pair of sneakers.
The cost is a donation of $2.00 per class.
