About Us
Our Mission and Core Values
To be a place of encountering Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, Nembutsu and Amida Buddha while leading the change in generational and ethnic make-up of the Toronto Buddhist Church in a thoughtful and dynamic manner.
History of the Temple
Established in 1947, our first home was purchased at 137 Huron Street in Toronto and remained a safe, warm and happy place to nurture and share the religious aspects of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism and accommodate our growing social activities.
Over six decades later, two location changes, our Sangha (community) is thrilled to call 1011 Sheppard Avenue West, our home.
