Dana is a Women’s organization that takes an active role in fundraising projects. The group was formed in 1959 with the help of Mary Ishiura and has been going strong ever since.
The theme of Dana has always been one of service and giving. The group supports many activities around the temple from the Youth and Kids programs, the Choir, Camp Lumbini and a Fall bazaar.
Committee highlights:
- In 1964, the Dana Scholarship Fund was established
- In 1982 at the World Buddhist Women’s Convention in Hawaii, the Buddhist Churches of Canada’s Women’s Federation was formally accepted into the world organization
- In 2003, “Way of Life” was published to commemorate our 45th Anniversary
