At Toronto Buddhist Church we welcome all families!
Shinran Shonin explained that Amida Buddha’s wisdom and compassion is for all, no matter their skills and abilities, knowledge and intelligence, or life experiences. Which means that Shin Buddhism is a path that has space for everyone – including children – to move towards Buddhahood.
If you have any children or school ages youth in your life who would like to learn about Buddhism in a safe, friendly, and fun environment, please join us every Sunday! A minister will lead the kids’ service in the hondo (main hall) and afterwards, the children move downstairs to the classroom where there will be a short lesson or activity related to the month’s theme as well as some fun crafts and treats!
We encourage parents to join the children during the kids service, but joining the children in the classroom is optional. Some parents choose to remain upstairs for the “adult” service that starts at 11:00 AM.
Kids Sangha meets every Sunday:
Kids Service – 10:30 am – 10:50 am in the Hondo.
Kids Activities – 11:00 am – 12:00 pm downstairs in the classrooms.
After service, children and their parents are welcome to enjoy some refreshments with family and friends before heading home.
